Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Inorganic or Physical Chemistry with Specialization in Materials Science
Effective Date: August 17, 2016 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range:Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in physical or inorganic chemistry, or materials science. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2016.
Strong record of research productivity; demonstrated potential for developing and sustaining an independent externally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students leading to peer-reviewed publications; potential for effective teaching in inorganic or physical chemistry, and materials science. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
Post-doctoral research experience; preference will be given to candidates who can complement research interests of existing faculty and/or utilize existing instrumentation.
Teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in physical or inorganic chemistry and materials science and graduate level courses in the area of specialty;
Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research;
Develop and sustain an independent and externally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students leading to publications (research start-up funds are available);
Participate in activities serving the department, college, university, and community.

Because of the nature of this position, the University requires that the successful candidate complete a background check (including a criminal records check) prior to assuming this position.
