Assistant Professor in Chemistry of Materials, University of California, Davis

The Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for a full‐time faculty position in Chemistry. This search will be conducted at the assistant professor rank and the resulting hire will be at the assistant professor rank regardless of the proposed appointee’s qualifications. Individuals specializing in the Chemistry of Materials, including synthesis and fundamental studies of hard or soft materials, are especially encouraged to
apply. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required. Candidates must possess (or demonstrate the potential to achieve) a strong record in the areas of research, teaching and service. Candidates must also possess the ability to teach lower‐ and upper‐division chemistry courses, and graduate level chemistry courses, and be strongly committed to providing service to the department, university, and chemistry communities.

The start date for this position is July 1, 2016. The position will remain open until filled but to assure full consideration, submit by October 15, 2015 a cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, Statement of Research, Statement of Teaching, Statement of Contribution to Diversity (encouraged), names and addresses of at least three references and, if PhD obtained during 2013 or later, transcripts.
