Research professorship in sustainable materials processing at the Department of Materials Engineering of the KU Leuven
The Department of Materials Engineering (MTM) of the KU Leuven is seeking candidates for a full-time academic position in the area of sustainable materials processing, recycling and residue valorization.
MTM develops new materials and material production and material transformation processes that contribute to the technologies and applications of tomorrow.
With this position MTM wants to strengthen its research program in the development, modeling and assessment of zero waste processing routes of complex products and streams (e.g. urban mining of post-consumer end-of-life products streams, landfill mining streams, production by-products) to recover the valuable metals and valorize the residues.
Candidates should have an excellent interdisciplinary research record within the field of materials engineering and sustainable materials processing in particular and have shown educational competence.
Depending on the successful candidate’s record and qualifications, the appointment will be as a tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor, professor or full professor starting from October 1, 2016.
