Research Area: Critical phenomenon in bulk and confined liquids/supercooled:  using molecular dynamics simulation to study the dynamic and thermodynamic behavior of liquids,  investigate the relation between the liquid-liquid point and the anomalous behavior of super-cooled water. Glass transition:  using classical molecular dynamics as well as first-principle calculations to investigate the mechanism of good glass-forming ability in bulk metallic glasses, aiming at providing useful information for the search and design of higher performance metallic materials. Granular systems: study the spontaneous nucleation in condensed phases, such as protein nucleation in biological systems, and the influence of nucleation rate by the presence of the meta-stable fluid-fluid critical point.
